The Best LEED Exam

The LEED Exams are proctored via computer and webcam from the comfort of your personal environment. There are two different accreditation levels: The LEED Green Associate and the LEED Accredited Professional level. A candidate must first complete the Green Associate before moving on to the Accredited Professional Exam. All exams take about 2 hours of testing time to complete.

For those of you not familiar with the program here is a breakdown:

1 LEED Green Associate

green associate

A LEED Green Associate must have in-depth knowledge of the LEED rating system. You must understand the building principals of sustainable construction as well as an overall understanding of the LEED rating system.

2 LEED AP

A LEED AP credential means the candidate has shown vast knowledge in any of the 5 different AP categories. The AP designation helps distinguish yourself as someone who can facilitate the certification process of a LEED Project.

The Best LEED AP Exam

We picked the BD+C exam as the most popular choice among candidates looking to obtain their LEED AP. It is the most commonly used accreditation with the greatest number of candidates obtaining their certification in this category. We recommend a candidate reflect on the type of projects they are going to work on.

When is BD+C not the best LEED AP choice? A good example would be someone who constantly works on build-outs without the full project. Then Interior Design and Construction would be a better choice. Another example is if you work for a developer on projects that encompass a neighboorhood, you most likely would be choosing LEED Neighborhood Development.
